Colorado School of Mines’ (CSM) Renewable Energy Materials Research Science and Engineering Center collaborates with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to prepare students for careers in renewable energy through research and classroom opportunities. In addition, CSM’s Department of Physics offers a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Renewable Energy.
Colorado State University (CSU) calls itself the "Green University" and provides clean-energy research in alternative fuels, clean engines, photovoltaics, smart-grid technology, wind engineering, water resources, and satellite-based atmospheric monitoring. CSU also houses the Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory, which conducts research to create innovative clean-energy solutions and entrepreneurial models locally and globally.
The University of Colorado Denver offers the Global Energy Management (GEM) two-year masters of science degree in energy management. Courses include 21st-century Global Energy Issues and Realities, Renewable and Alternative Energy: Opportunities and Challenges, and Advanced Renewable Energy Management.
CU-Boulder’s Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the Leeds School of Business features RETool certificate program. The four-day course provides an in-depth look at renewable energy technologies and policies.
