Workforce Programs - Colleges

Ecotech Institute (Aurora) announced in April 2010 that it would locate its first and only college focused entirely on training students for green jobs in Colorado. The college trains students in renewable energy, sustainable design, and energy efficiency through practical, hands-on training. While its facility is expected to open early in 2011, the private college already offers seven degree programs for students entering the cleantech industry.

Colorado Mountain College offers three solar energy certificate programs: Basic Solar Photovoltaic, Photovoltaic Installer, and Solar Thermal Installer at its West Garfield Campus near Rifle.

Colorado Mesa University (Grand Junction) has a Bachelor's of business administration degree with a concentration in landman/energy management to work with landowners (to obtain the rights) to use land for energy needs and negotiate contracts among energy companies to allow energy to be produced, transported, and sold to the public.
