Forbes.com features Colorado's New Energy Economy
Gov. Ritter: With or without Washington D.C., Colorado is creating jobs with more green energy
Colorado's efforts to expand its New Energy Economy got high-profile attention in a May 27, 2010 op-ed by Governor Bill Ritter on Forbes.com.
In the editorial, Ritter cites the importance of clean-energy legislation in creating jobs and protecting our climate.
"For the past few years, Colorado has been building a New Energy Economy. We have created a roadmap that is transforming our economy, encouraging clean-energy innovation, and protecting the environment. It's a proven blueprint and, if Washington is not ready for it, states are," wrote Ritter.
Since taking office, Ritter has signed 57 clean-energy bills in Colorado to create thousands of clean-energy jobs and keep energy costs low for homeowners and small businesses.
Ritter also highlighted Denmark-based Vestas' nearly $1 billion investment and 2,500 new jobs at four new manufacturing plants along the Front Range from Windsor to Pueblo.
