FasTracks West Corridor Development Opportunities Forum
Lakewood's on track, so get on board! The City is hosting a Transit Oriented Development Investment Opportunities Forum to give investors, bankers and developers the first chance to learn about possibilities now available in Lakewood along the FasTracks' West Corridor Light Rail line.
The forum is 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Lakewood City Hall, 480 S. Allison Parkway, with the option of a tour of the West Corridor from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The forum will be the best overview of investment possibilities in a series of discussions with Lakewood's Planning and Public Works Department and the City's economic development officials about ways to finance, develop and market the exciting prospects available with zoning tools already in place along the West Corridor, set to open in 2013.
The forum also includes notable speakers: Mark Falcone of Continuum Partners that has developed the award-winning Belmar downtown district in Lakewood, and John Reinsma of Weston Solutions whose Garrison Street Station project is a "green" mixed-use development that is the most significant investment along West Colfax Avenue in five years.
Over the past three years, Lakewood has performed extensive planning of more than 1,000 acres near the West Corridor line and its stations to prepare for coming investments. New zoning around the stations and along Colfax has opened up opportunities for more types of dynamic transit-related uses as well as provided chances for creative pedestrian friendly, higher-density, mixed-use projects.
Please register by Feb. 11, which will hold a space and include two meals for the registration price of $20. To learn more, to watch a video on a vision for the area, or to register, please visit www.lakewood.org/TOD or call 303-987-7745.
