DIA's busiest month on record was July 2009 with 5,109,342 passengers traveling through and this July was only 0.2 percent away from this record-breaking number.

DIA broke new records on Saturday, July 2, as the second busiest day in DIA history with an estimated 177,757 travelers, and on Friday, July 29, as the third busiest day with an estimated 177,668 travelers. The busiest day in DIA's history was Tuesday, June 1, 2010 with 177,792 travelers.

The year-to-date passenger traffic for July 2011 is 30,720,799, an increase of 680,460 passengers, or 2.3 percent, over the same seven-month period in 2010.
"We remained very busy in July due to the competitive airfares available in the Denver market." said DIA Aviation Manager Kim Day. "Although our traffic was only up slightly, we still managed to serve more than five million passengers in the month of July for the third straight year. We'll see what the end of the year has in store for us, but so far we are on track for another year above 50 million passengers."

July brought a 0.3 percent increase in flight operations, which rose slightly from 57,031 in 2010, to 57,224 in 2011. Cargo saw a 14.7 percent decrease with 43,368,050 pounds of total cargo handled in July 2011, compared to 50,825,322 pounds during the same month last year.
